Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) adheres to just about every traditional roofing material so it can be installed over concrete, wood, steel and most existing roof systems.
Once the SPF has been applied to teh proper thickness and finish specification, a protective layer of elastomeric coating or gravel is applied. This coating protects the SPF from the sun's ultra-violet radiation, mositure and foot traffic.
This protective layer produces a durable weather resistant surface that helps protect and seal the foam from any damage and can be walked on for normal maintenance.
Coatings are usually installed in two stages: a base cfoat and a top coat. Granules are often embedded into the final coat to offer added protection against mechanical ultra-violet damage.
A SPF roof, like most other systems, will expand and contract during different climate conditions. It is very important that the protective coating is able to expand and contract with the SPF or serious damage can result.
